How did you get into cosplay?
I got involved with costuming because of kids. I really enjoy working with children and working with their imagination.
How many characters are you currently cosplaying and what are they?
I primarily do Star Wars costumes and am a member of the LFL/Disney recognized costuming groups: the 501st Legion (Garrison XO), Rebel Legion (Former Base CO and Legion LXO), Mandalorian Mercs (Verd’ika Corps Sergeant), and The Dark Empire (Founding Member of The Obsidian Spire).
Those costumes include: Stormtrooper (retired costume), Scout Trooper, Kir Kanos, ROTJ Boba Fett, Special Edition – Boba Fett), Imperial Officer, Imperial Crewman, Imperial Gunner, Imperial Officer (Raith Jerriko, custom-unapproved), TIE Pilot, Republic Clone Commando, custom Mandalorian, Rebel Pilot, New Republic Jedi (two versions), Tusken Raider, Weequay Jedi, Twi’lek Male Sith, Imperial Magistrate (custom), Raith Jerriko (gray Jedi-2 versions).
What’s your favorite cosplay you’ve done so far and why?
Probably Kir Kanos, because it was the character that inspired me to start costuming; however, it took me years to build the costume and acquire all its pieces.
What’s your favorite way to craft?
ABS, fiberglass, and resin. I also love going through junk to use as props.
What’s your favorite crafting item to work with and why?
Dremel and hot glue gun!
What are your cosplay goals (e.g. professional, hobbyist, charity, gateway to another career, etc)?
I got involved in costuming for charity and putting a smile on people’s faces.
What’s your dream cosplay and why?
Well…not dream but working on an armored Knights of the Old Republic Jedi.
What advice would you give someone who wants to get into cosplay?
Get started and talk to people in the community. When I started, I thought I was alone. Search people out for advice and friendships. I have made some of my closest friends I have ever had in this hobby.
What other interests do you have outside of cosplay?
It has taken over a huge part of my life but…I love exercising, reading, movies, writing, and history.
If you could have dinner with one fictional character, who would it be and why?
Grand Admiral Thrawn.
